Day 46!!! An interesting day with interesting conversations.
8:30 AM: I get out of bed unusually early due to some restlessness and
coming to terms with the fact that I still don't have my green card.
9:00 AM: Start a run around Brampton which lasts about 45 minutes with
5 miles covered.
10:00 AM: Breakfast at Tim Horton's. Battling my minds thoughts, trying
to deflect negativity.
11:00 AM: I call my wife with the news that I've still not heard from
the consulate... Conversation is not a happy one.
12:30 PM: My brother in-law calls to see if I'm up for a game of
squash. I take him up on the invitation. We play a few extra games
cause I felt it was better than... Waiting.
2:30 PM: I get back into my Jeep and was overcome with a sinking
feeling. Starting to realize that my job which starts next week in New
York is about a day away from falling through due to no visa and
passport. I drive back to where I'm staying filled with disappointment.
3:00 PM: Call my bro in-law for access to their house for a quick
escape with my guitar. Thanks Crystal and Ben for the perfect guitar
room. And the lovely sign you made for it. It's been one of the major
ways I've been able to pass the time with some level of sanity. My
therapist.
4:00 PM: I leave my lawyer a message explaining my disappointment with
the consulate once again... This message did not contain an air of
happiness. Haha.
4:20 PM: A conversation with my agents regarding my work situation
next week. Not a happy one. But let me say this, they have been
extremely supportive and understanding throughout this ordeal. It has
been a blessing to have this.
4:30 PM: My Lawyer returns my message... " Hello Clyde... I have some
news... Your Permanent residency has been accepted!" Green Card!
... I'll see you soon New York. Start spreadin the news. I'm leavin...
